Cape Winelands luxury homes lie not far away from the wonderful City of Cape Town. The name, rather tellingly, indicates a rich wine producing environment where highly prestigious vineyards yield excellent fruit, a Dionysian land at the tip of Africa. The first thing that strikes any visitor to this part of South Africa is the extraordinarily beautiful landscape. The Cape Winelands is a truly magical landscape comprised of small wine producing towns, rural farms and interconnected valleys which run through the most awe-inspiring mountain ranges. Wonderful views are seen from every angle as you pass through this breathtaking natural scenery, hopping from wine farms to restaurants, shops and cafés.
Besides treating oneself in the many excellent restaurants (many of which are situated at the farms) and sampling the wide-variety of wines on offer, there are plenty of other activities, particularity outdoor pursuits e.g., hiking trails, cycling, walking, fishing, and a visiting many of the protected nature reserves and botanical garden areas. There really is a wealth of activities in this special part of the world.
The two main towns to explore are Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, both have there own specific charm and histories, and they both offer excellent, private holiday homes in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
